BIS TEPSCO serves district energy and public utility businesses with the construction of central cooling, heating, and power generation plants, including the installation of their associated piping distribution systems. We have developed specialized trenching and tunneling techniques that utilize an innovative and cost-efficient shoring system for deep excavations. This system allows us to install underground distribution piping with minimal disruption of pedestrian and vehicular traffic in downtown business districts, medical centers, office complexes, and campus-style developments. Our construction team is intimately familiar with the permitting, traffic control, trench safety, and road restoration demands for working in these busy and congested areas.
BIS TEPSCO has installed miles of chilled water distribution piping, condensate lines, and telecommunication conduits. Scopes of work have included ductile iron and welded pipe up to 36” in diameter using a combination of open cut and tunneling construction methods at depths of up to 30 feet. Utilizing our innovative slip-form shoring system, BIS TEPSCO strategically places deep shafts along pipe distribution routes and installs straight runs of pipe and fiber optic conduits in tunnels in excess of 600 feet long. - Site Preparation
